Here you will find a full listing of our fees, along with how and when they apply.

Membership Fees - 2020

Joining us for the first time?

If you're joining us after the first quarter in the year, you'll pay an adjusted fee.

Renewing your membership?

You need to renew your membership at the beginning of each calendar year. Renewals that are not completed will result in an automatic lapse of membership. A re-instatement fee in addition to the full annual membership fee will then apply.

Applies to new and returning members. The fee for Student membership is due from 1 January annually. Overdue fees can be paid up to 31 March without incurring a late fee. After 1 April, a late fee will be applied.

Applies to first year of membership only. Our student membership fees operate on a pro-rata basis for the first year of membership depending on time of application. This membership fee usually relates to students applying for May exams.*

Upgrade Fee

This is a one-off admin fee applied after membership category changes from Student to Graduate following the January or May exams. Members get increased 'Member Area' functionality at this point with access to CPD content and a CPD Log to help meet compliance needs.

Grandfathered

The fee for Grandfathered status membership is due from 1 January annually. Overdue fees can be paid up to 31 March without incurring a late fee. After 1 April, a late fee will be applied. No quarterly fees apply. Grandfathered members can access and record CPD in our Member Area.

Affilate

The fee for Affiliate status membership is due from 1 January annually. Overdue fees can be paid up to 31 March without incurring a late fee. After 1 April, a late fee will be applied. No quarterly fees apply. Affiliate members have access to all of our CPD content but do not record CPD with us. This level of membership is also for those who do not hold a designation but wish to access our CPD content.

This membership is for retired industry professionals who have given up their designation but would still like to access our events and CPD content. 

*An annual membership fee will be charged the following year. Membership fees are separate to exam fees.

Accredited Product Adviser (APA) & Certified Insurance Practitioner (CIP) Fees

For CIP modules sitting in 2021

CIP-01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07 & 08

The fees listed below refer to online applications. Paper-based applications incur an additional €25 fee to cover administration costs, eg. first-time online exam fee for CIP-01 is €320, while a paper application is €345.

A late fee of €25 will be charged for applications made after the closing date for that semester.

Re-registration / Repeat Fee - Online Application

We charge a reduced registration / repeat fee for the two sittings immediately after the original registration. If a module is not re-registered for within this timeframe, the full application fee will be charged at the next date of application.

Deferral Fee

Deferrals are offered in extenuating medical circumstances only and must cover the date of the exam. Evidence must be supplied within 10 working days of the exam date. 

Recheck Fee (CIP-01 to CIP-05 only)

This fee relates to CIP MCQ modules only. Please note that the information available from a recheck is limited. As exam scripts have been through an automated process and further QA, it is very unlikely that a mark will change upon recheck.

Review Fee (CIP-06 to CIP-08)

This fee applies to CIP written modules only. We offer a script review before moving to having a paper re-marked by another corrector. If you move forward and request a full review you will receive a very detailed report from the new corrector.

Management Diploma in Insurance (MDI) Fees

For MDI modules sitting in 2021

MDI-01, 02, 04, 05, 06 & 10 - Diploma Level Modules

The fees listed below refer to online applications. Paper-based applications incur an additional €25 fee to cover administration costs, eg. first-time online exam fee for MDI-01 is €565, while a paper application is €590.

Re-registration / Repeat Fee - Entire Module - Online Application

If a student has had 3 unsuccessful attempts in any component part of their assessment, they are required to re-register for the entire module again. We charge a reduced re-registration / repeat fee for the two sittings immediately after the original application. If a module is not re-registered for within this timeframe, the full application fee will be charged at the next date of application.

Deferral - Entire Module

€180

A postponement of the student's participation on the programme until the next scheduled semester.

Assignment Deferral with Extenuating Circumstances

€60

An unforeseen event that impacts on the students ability to submit their assignment by the stated deadline. The circumstances under which such an application is made should be based on extenuating situations (e.g. illness, bereavement, family illness, victim of crime etc). Applications must be made along with all relevant supporting documentation. This deferral fee applies when documentation can be provided to prove the extenuating circumstance.

Assignment Resubmission

€120

This assignment resubmission fee is only applicable within a narrow window of the original assignment deadline - typically two weeks.

MCQ Exam Re-registration - Online Application

€120

This fee applies to the permitted three attempts or early repeat options for the MCQ assessment component of the module before the overall total module assessment must be registered for again.

We charge a reduced re-registration fee for the two sittings immediately after the first application for a specific module. If a module is not re-registered for within this timeframe, the full application fee will be charged at the next date of application.

UCD Parchment Fee

Replacement UCD parchments can only be issued by UCD. A new parchment can be ordered from UCD directly via this link here

Replacement Insurance Institute Parchment Fee

Exemptions Fee

If you are offered exemptions there is a €75 fee (per programme not per module) to apply these exemptions to your record.

Accreditations Fee (Non-Members)

For any non-member seeking our accreditation services there is a charge of €75.

CPD Lecture or Webinar Attendance Fee (Non-Members)

€35

For non-members wishing to attend our face-to-face CPD lectures or webinars there is an attendance fee of €35.

Replacement Textbook

€150

Whilst generally we do not offer replacement textbooks or sell our textbooks, should a student need to replace the material there is a charge of €150.

Certified Learning Statement

Free

In order to verify your exam results, designation and membership details we are often asked for a Certified Learning Statement (signed by an ACII). We offer this service free of charge.  Members can also use this when banking credits with the CII.
