Planning

Putting a CPD plan in place is vital to ensure that you meet your compliance requirements. Your 15 hour formal CPD requirement (including 1 hour of ethics and 1 hour per function fulfilled) must be completed within a calendar year; so waiting until the final weeks of December is not advised.

By documenting a plan, you can monitor your progress throughout the year. Completing 1 to 1.5 hours of CPD each month ensures that you will meet the MCC requirement of 15 hours by year end. While not mandatory, experience shows that this works well for members.

If the relevant Retail Product Category for your function is not listed after a particular lecture/e-learning module in the CPD Schedule, then the content of that lecture has not been accredited for your area of practice.

Failure to complete all CPD activity by 31 December will result in disciplinary action as detailed under Section 6 Non-Compliance & Disciplinary Procedures of the CPD Rules.

Although activity must be completed by 31 December, you have one month (until 31 January) to submit your annual return via the iiiCPD Compliance tool.
