The Insurance Institute of Ireland has raised over €56,000 for Barnardos, Ireland's leading children's charity, which was chosen as its Charity Partner for 2011 / 2012. Through a programme of fundraising activities and events, it was the goal of the Institute to raise a minimum of €50,000 this year, in support of Barnardos work with vulnerable children in some of the most disadvantaged communities in Ireland.
With your help we have raised a fantastic €56k for Barnardos, well exceeding the €50k target.
III Chair Malcolm Hughes, Barnardos CEO Fergus Finlay, III President Philip Smith and III CEO Eamon Shackleton at the grand finale tag rugby tournament on Thursday 15th March.
Thank you to all III members and supporters who joined us at our grand finale Barnardos event; a Tag Rugby Tournament at St Mary's College RFC, Templeogue on Thursday March 15th. A roaring success, this event was a fantastic way to celebrate the of all our members in fundraising for Barnardos over the past year. With your help we well exceeded our goal of raising €50,000 for the Barnardos 'Best Choice' Programme, with a cheque for €56,000 presented to Barnardos CEO, Fergus Finlay on the night.
RTE rugby analyst, Brent Pope and Leinster players, Rhys Ruddock and Jack McGrath were also on hand to lend their support and present the winning teams with their prizes on the night.
Congratulations goes to The Euro Eages of Euro Insurances who were overall winners on the night, whilst Norfolk-in-Chance of JDM Insurance Services and Lloyds Insurance won the plate.

Still want to become an office Hero, here's how you can!
We’re looking to recruit a dedicated member of staff at each member company, as a Barnardos Office Hero. It will be their role to champion the cause of Barnardos in the workplace and encourage their colleagues to get involved with fundraising events and activities, all of which will be supported by the Barnardos Fundraising team. A member of the Barnardos Fundraising team will then arrange to meet with you to formulate a programme of activities in your workplace over the coming months.
